Changing your My MozOut password takes less than a minute and interrupts none of your services.
| Before you start: this is your My MozOut password. It is not the same as your My MozOut one, nor your cPanel one, nor the one on each e-mail account — they are independent, and changing one does not touch the others. |
How to change it
|
|
|
Your session on this device stays open; on the others you will have to log in again. If you cannot remember the current one, do not keep guessing — use the e-mail reset, which does not ask for it.
A password worth having
| Do | Avoid | Why |
| Three or four words in a row | Eight characters with a symbol in the middle | Length is what counts, and it types far better on a phone |
| A different one per panel | The same here, in cPanel and on e-mail | Lose one and you lose them all |
| Keeping it in a password manager | On paper, or in a file called passwords | It is the first place anyone looks |
| The step that really protects you: a password on its own is no longer enough. Turn on two-factor authentication — it is the only defence that still works after a password is discovered. |
If you suspect someone got into the account, change the cPanel one too, and the one on every e-mail account; and read how to tell if your site has been compromised.
