Registering a Mozambican domain is simpler than most people expect. You do not need to be a company. But every .mz name is approved by hand by the National Registry (INTIC), which can ask for documents proving your details and your right to the name.
Who can register
On .co.mz any person or organisation can register. .org.mz is for non-profit organisations and individuals, and .net.mz for electronic communications providers registered with the regulator. Outside .co.mz, the name must match the registrant's name. The restricted ones have their own rules: see the Mozambican extensions and who they are for .

What it is for |
| Full name |
Identifies the registrant - the person or company the domain belongs to. |
| E-mail |
This is where expiry notices and confirmations go. Use an address you actually read, and not one on the domain you are registering. |
| Phone |
A fallback contact, used when e-mail fails. |
| Address and city |
Part of the registrant record. |
| Country |
Likewise. It does not have to be Mozambique. |
For how many years
We take 1 to 10 years. One year is the minimum, and each extra year costs the same as the first - there is no penalty for paying ahead. Paying several years at once is the cheapest way never to lose a domain to forgetfulness.
How it goes
| 3 |
Pay. Once payment clears, we submit the request to the Registry. Approval can take up to 5 working days, and we e-mail you as soon as the domain is yours.

Real details, always. Invented or out-of-date registrant details can invalidate the registration and, in a dispute over ownership, leave you with no case. They are the only document you have.
