Transfer a .mz domain from CIUEM: step by step, free of charge

Many Mozambican companies registered their domain directly with CIUEM and, over time, want to move it to a provider that handles everything in one place — domain, hosting and e-mail. That is possible, and for .mz domains the transfer is free.

What you gain

1 Renewals and hosting on the same invoice and in the same panel, instead of separate processes.
2 Immediate DNS management from the panel, without requesting changes by e-mail.
3 Automatic expiry notices — the most common reason a domain is lost is simply that nobody noticed the date.

How to request it

1 Check that the registrant details held by CIUEM are correct and that you can read the contact e-mail. Without that, the transfer cannot be confirmed.
2 Ask us for the transfer, giving the domain — see also how to transfer a domain for the general process.
3 We handle the request with CIUEM. For .mz domains there is no transfer fee; you only pay the renewal when it falls due.
4 While it runs, the site and e-mail keep working — nothing is switched off during a transfer.
Do this before the domain is close to expiring. A transfer requested at the last minute may not complete in time, and an expired domain is far harder (and more expensive) to recover than to transfer.
Not sure where it is registered? Check the official whois at whois.nic.mz, or send us the domain and we'll check.
