How to upgrade or downgrade your plan

Outgrown your plan — or paying for more than you use? You can change plan yourself from My MozOut, without opening a ticket and without moving the site by hand.

Changing plan

1 Log in to My MozOut and open My Services.
2 Click the service you want to change, then Upgrade/Downgrade.
3 Pick the new plan. The system shows the price difference before you confirm.
4 Confirm and pay the invoice that's generated. The change is applied once the payment clears.

What you pay

You are charged the difference for the time remaining in the current period, not a whole new period. If you're halfway through the month, you pay roughly half the difference.

What happens to your site

1 Nothing moves. Files, e-mail, databases and settings stay exactly where they are — only the account's limits change.
2 No downtime in a normal plan change on the same server.
3 The new limits apply immediately after the payment is confirmed.
Going down to a smaller plan? Check first that your current usage fits the new limits — disk space, mailboxes, databases and addon domains. If you're already over, the downgrade can fail or leave the account over quota.
Not sure which plan you need? Tell us what the site does and roughly how much traffic it gets, and we'll tell you honestly whether the change is worth it — including when it isn't.
