Changing plan inside MozOut — from Hospedagem Pro to Plus, say — is far simpler than migrating from another provider. In most cases nothing has to be moved: the site stays where it is and only the plan limits change.
The two kinds of change
| Situation | What happens | Downtime? |
| Changing plan Pro → Plus → Ultra |
Same cPanel account. Only the space and resource limits change | None |
| Changing service type Hosting → VPS, or another server |
A new account is created and the data must be copied | None, if done properly |
Changing plan
- Sign in at My MozOut
- Open Services → My Services and click the current plan
- Choose the upgrade/downgrade option in the side menu
- Select the new plan and confirm
An invoice is generated for the difference, prorated to the time left in the current cycle — you do not pay a full month again. As soon as payment is confirmed, the new limits take effect.
| Nothing is lost. Files, databases, e-mail accounts, SSL certificates and your cPanel settings stay exactly as they were. You do not need a backup or to reconfigure e-mail. |
If you are moving down a plan
Downgrading is possible, but needs one check: what you already have must fit in the smaller plan.
| • Check the disk space in use, under Disk Usage in cPanel |
| • Count how many domains, databases and e-mail accounts you have active |
| • If anything exceeds the new plan’s limits, delete what you no longer need before changing |
When it really is a server move
Going from shared hosting to a VPS, or moving to a different server, does involve copying everything to a new account. The same golden rule applies: set it up first, point the domain afterwards.
The step-by-step is in how to migrate a site without downtime — or ask our Migration Department, which handles internal moves too.
