ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini: which AI tool suits which task

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Grok. New versions turn up month after month and the question that reaches us is always the same: which one is best? The honest answer is that the question is the wrong one.

There is no best. There is one better suited to the task in front of you — and for most people, one is plenty.

This article deliberately names no versions. The numbers change too fast and any comparison made by version is wrong within months. What holds is the character of each tool and the task it fits. Before subscribing to anything, check the official site for what is included today.

By task, not by brand

If you need to… What usually suits best
Have one tool for everything ChatGPT. The most versatile, and the one with most people writing about how to use it — if you are lost, start there
Work with long documents Claude. It holds long texts without losing the thread and is strong at organising and summarising what is in them
Write and review code Claude or ChatGPT. Both help find errors and explain someone else’s code
Stay inside Gmail and Drive Gemini. The advantage is not the intelligence, it is already being where your files are
Very recent information Any of them with web search switched on. Without it they answer from what they learned up to a certain date
Images Almost all of them generate images now. Always check before publishing — hands, text and logos still come out bent

What none of them does

This does not change with the next version, and it is the most important part of this article:

1 They do not guarantee they are right. They invent with confidence: dates, laws, prices, names of features that do not exist. The more specific and the more recent the fact, the higher the risk.
2 They do not know your context. They do not know your plan, your domain or your server. A generic answer about cPanel can be right in general and wrong in your case.
3 They do not carry the responsibility. If you publish a text with a factual error, the error is yours. Reviewing is still human work.
Mind copyright. These tools learned from content published by other people. A text or an image that comes out can land closer to the original than is comfortable. If it is going out in your company’s name, review it.

The rule that matters more than the choice

Never paste credentials into an AI. cPanel or portal passwords, API keys, banking details, identity documents and client lists do not go into a chat with an assistant. It is sharing with a third party, and some tools keep the history. If you need help with an error, paste the error message — not the whole configuration file.

What you can send without worry: error messages with no passwords, public text from your site, generic questions. What needs care: client data, even anonymised — see personal data protection: what applies to your site.

And the assistant you already use with us

An artificial intelligence also answers in our chat and inside My MozOut. That one differs from the ones above in a way that matters: it was built to talk about your service and it knows when to fetch a person. What it does and where it stops is written in what our AI does, and what it does not.

Is it worth paying?

If you use it once a week, the free version is enough. If you use it daily and already hit the limits, a subscription pays off — but one. Subscribing to three tools to compare answers is spending that rarely justifies itself: pick one, learn to give it good prompts, and only move if it fails you on a concrete, repeated task.
