The short answer: a car dealer lives on listings with many photographs that change every week. To start, the entry plan will do, as long as the images are shrunk. The work is in keeping the stock right: a sold car still on sale damages trust faster than a slow site.
What weighs, and what does not
| Part of the site |
What to do |
| Photos of the cars |
They are the weight of the site. Use a maximum width and WebP: Image optimisation. Only load the first ones of each listing at the start: Lazy loading. |
| The car’s details |
Make, model, year, mileage, fuel and price as text. It is what the person compares, and what Google reads. |
| Sold cars |
Mark them “sold” or lead to similar cars, instead of leaving a 404: Crawl errors in Search Console. |
| Contact |
Call and WhatsApp on each page, with the car’s name already written in the message: Putting WhatsApp on your site. |
| Garage |
Hours, services, reference prices and how to book, in text. The Google Business Profile counts a lot: Being found on Google. |
How to choose, step by step
| 2 |
Decide who updates the stock and when, and do it the same day as the sale.
|
|
| 3 |
Set the photo size for whoever uploads them.
|
|
|
Beware of misleading ads. Price, mileage and condition must be the real ones. In many countries there are rules on advertising vehicles: check yours.
|
|
A dealer that advertises on classified portals can put a link to each listing on its site, or the other way round. Both help.

In our plans
| Situation | Plan | Why |
| Start: a stock of cars with shrunk photos, details as text and a contact | Pro | 1 site, 10 GB NVMe SSD and unlimited e-mail accounts, so each salesperson can have an address on the dealership's domain |
| Dealership and garage as separate sites, or several brands | Plus | 6 sites and 20 GB NVMe SSD, with 200 e-mails per hour for enquiries |
| A big stock, with many photos per car and years of sold listings kept | Ultra or Business | unlimited sites and 30 to 200 GB NVMe SSD |
WHEN TO MOVE UP: Move up when the photos of the stock fill the space (check Disk Usage in cPanel every month), when you want a separate site for the garage or for another brand, or when the e-mails from enquiries and notices reach the 100 e-mails per hour of the Pro plan. If the stock grows so much that the search on the site becomes slow, a VPS (virtual server with full SSH access) is the next step. Moving up can be done at any time and the site is not lost.
