Which hosting plan for a clinic or health professional: bookings, privacy and what not to publish

Choosing the Right Plan··· 145 views· 4 min read

The short answer: a clinic’s presentation site, with services, team, opening hours and a contact form, is light, and one of the first shared plans is enough. What needs care is not the plan: it is what the site collects and shows, because this is health.

What weighs, and what does not

Part of the site What to do
Patient data Do not ask for clinical information in a website form or ordinary e-mail. A name, a phone number, a preferred time and the reason in general terms are enough; the rest is handled by phone or at the practice. See Personal data protection.
Photos and testimonials Only with written consent from whoever appears. Some professions have their own rules on advertising and “before and after” photos: check those of your professional body.
Bookings A simple form is enough for many. A booking system can be a plugin or an outside service inside the page. Test the e-mail that notifies reception: Why your e-mail is not sending or receiving.
Address, hours and emergencies As text on the page, never only in an image. It is what people look for first and what Google reads.
The clinic’s e-mail On your own domain, not a free address: Free e-mail or e-mail on your own domain.

How to choose, step by step

1 Start with the entry plan. A presentation site with a form makes few simultaneous requests.
2 Install the SSL certificate and confirm the padlock before publishing the contact form.
3 Create the Google Business Profile with the hours and phone: it counts for more than the plan. See Being found on Google.
4 Review the plan only if the site starts doing more: a patient area, online results, bookings with payment. That is no longer a presentation site.
A website is not a clinical records system. If you plan to keep patient files or results online, do not do it on an ordinary site: get advice from someone who knows your country’s health rules and use software made for it. Laws vary: check what applies to you.
Put a call button and a WhatsApp button at the top of the page, on the phone. Someone looking for a clinic wants to call, find out where it is or book.

In our plans

SituationPlanWhy
One health professional or a small clinic: presentation site and contact formPro1 site, 10 GB NVMe SSD, unlimited mailboxes on the clinic domain, unlimited databases and a daily automatic backup
Several professionals with a site each, or a group of practicesPlus6 sites, 20 GB NVMe SSD and 200 e-mails per hour
A network of clinics with many sitesUltra or Businessunlimited sites, 30 GB on Ultra and 50 to 200 GB on Business

WHEN TO MOVE UP: move up when you add a second site, when the disk in cPanel fills, or when reminder and booking e-mails come close to the hourly ceiling (100 on Pro, 200 on Plus, 300 on Ultra). Backups restore at no cost on every plan, but the plan does not turn a website into a clinical records system: anything beyond a presentation site needs software made for health.
