The short answer: after payment, our team sets up your station by hand and sends you an e-mail with the details: panel address, user name, password, server address, port, broadcast password and the listening link. With those you sign in to VoxStream, upload music, build a playlist for the AutoDJ, and the station is on air even with nobody at the microphone. Live shows come next, through WebDJ in the browser or a broadcasting program. Menu names change with the panel’s version and language: look for the meaning, not the exact word.

From first sign-in to on air

Sign in: open the panel address from the e-mail and sign in with the user name and password. If the panel lets you change the password, pick one of your own.

Upload your music: in the music area (the library), upload your MP3 files, ideally sorted by genre. The space is your plan’s: 20 GB on Pro, 50 GB on Plus, 150 GB on Ultra. Upload your jingles and ads too.

Build and schedule playlists: make one playlist per kind of show and tell the panel when each one plays. Turn on time announcements if you want the station to tell the time, and jingles between songs.

Start the AutoDJ and listen: open the listening link on a phone, ideally on mobile data, and check the station is playing.

To go live: use WebDJ, which broadcasts from the browser with nothing to install, or a program such as BUTT, Mixxx (free), SAM Broadcaster or RadioBOSS (paid). In the program, fill in the server address, the port and the broadcast password. For example, stream.yourdomain and port 8000: this is only an example, your real details are in the e-mail. As a rule, when the live show connects the AutoDJ steps aside, and it comes back when the live show ends.

Put the player on your site: pick one of the panel’s player templates, copy the code and paste it into a page of your site. If you want the listening link on an address of your own domain, ask us: we create the record, as in DNS records explained.

Do not hand the broadcast password or the panel password to every DJ. Create a DJ account for each person in VoxStream’s DJ registry: if someone leaves the station, you delete their account and nobody else has to change anything. And never post the broadcast password in a group or on a page.
